Aimless Again - 2020 Future Punks (Review)

Punk Rock from Port Jefferson, New York. Aimless Again has to be one of the most dedicated bands I've seen, these guys have been working together since they were in middle school! They have been at this for a while.

Intro / Shredder
What a great way to start this album off, this song will hit you with nostalgia, as when I hear it I think of 90s skatepunk bands. It is an extremely catchy song and it is already stuck in my head. Awesome opener track, I like the way the intro cuts right into the second track.

Scream
This is the third track on the record, this song is just as nostalgic as the first when it comes time to sounding like 90s skatepunk, only 3 tracks in and this album is already one of my favorites, the lyrics in this song as sung greatly, and are kinda relatable, which is great.

My Mistake
A calm track in comparison to the others so far, which I love when bands have variety sound wise. This is another song people would possibly relate to, a lot of emotion went into this track which is obvious, you can hear it and that is awesome! This is an amazing record.

Interlude / Turn & Run
This song kind of reminds me of NOFX during the opening riff. I usually say this is in my reviews a lot and it is one of my guidelines when I review stuff, this sounds like something from a Tony Hawk soundtrack, and it is true. I love songs that remind me of my childhood, this song does a great job doing that!

Tracer
This song has the perfect amount of melody, amazing instrumental work as well, this band works so well together, so much chemistry. and for that amazing teamwork we get one of the best skatepunk records to come out of New York.

Rejuvenate
Opening with a slower intro, this song is probably my favorite song on the album, although it is pretty hard to determine a "favorite" track on this record. I have not had anything negative to say about this album so far. It has impressed me with every track.

Celebration
Here we are, the second to last track on the album, throughout this record my opinion has not changed, straight up goodness and that is definitely the case here, another great punk rock song, even futher cementing this as an amazing record.

Outro / 7 Lonely Days
As a closer for the record this is both an outro track, as well as a 6 and a half minute song. Both serve as great outros but 7 Lonely Days is pretty much the grand finale to a dope record, a lot of hard work went into this album and it definitely has not gone unnoticed.

Conclusion: As I said multiple times in the review, this is a great record. A really early candidate for the Top 10 list of the best albums of 2018. These dudes did an amazing track on creating this record! I can't wait for everyone to hear it.

Final Score: ★★★★
